Matsuri Guide is a collaborative project dedicated to discovering matsuri — traditional Japanese festivals that punctuate local life throughout the year — as well as exploring a broader field of living heritage: festivals, seasonal markets, shrine and parish festivals, exhibitions, cultural celebrations and community events.
The aim is simple: to offer an interactive map of festive Japan, where anyone can view past and upcoming events, learn about their history, location and distinctive features. Each place is geolocated and enriched with details so that you can plan your visits, or simply dream about your next trip.
Whether you are passionate about Japanese culture, a curious traveller, a photographer looking for unique atmospheres, or a local resident wishing to learn more about the traditions of your region, Matsuri Guide invites you to browse, explore and share these special moments.
